About
Write the players at the top and the results at the bottom: penalties, prizes or tasks, with any empty spots as a pass. Then start. The rungs stay covered until the round begins, so nobody can trace the lines in advance. Tap a name, or press Next person or Space, to follow one line at a time, or show them all at once.
Why it is fair: rungs drawn at random do not mix a ladder evenly, and with the usual number of rungs people tend to end up near where they started. Here the outcome is drawn first, with cryptographic randomness and every arrangement equally likely, and the ladder is then built to lead there. Wherever you stand, every result has the same chance.
The names and results stay for the other games on this site: spin them on the roulette wheel, draw lots with them, or split the same people into teams.
More in Random Games
Spin a wheel of names or items to pick one at random. Whoever is picked can sit out the next spin, so everyone gets a turn.
Shuffle one card per person and let everyone pick in turn: winning cards and blanks, or your own penalties and prizes.
Split a list of names into 2 to 20 random teams of even size, member by member or all at once.
Roll one to six six-sided dice at once and see the total. Fair, quick, and easy to read across the room.
